BP7-RILS

Brief Overview:
This learning scenario and plan is set up to introduce the learner to something new.  A Web 2.0 tool, called Go Animate, that can be utilized in their day to day life or classroom/education environment. I will incorporate small groups and give self- explanatory instructions.

 Target Audience:
Adult Students/Teachers

Objectives:

Identify how Go Animate can be vital to differentiated instruction.

Create an Animation from start to finish.

Critique and Praise the group’s animations.

Collaborate and share ideas via chat and commenting through Facebook.

Procedure:
·      Go To the Website and press the link for Go Animate http://goanimate.com/
·      Next, Sign up for a free “Go Animate” account (Very simple)
·      A short tutorial will then pop up.  Go through the tutorial and then get ready to create your first animation with “Go Animate”.
·      Create an animation that focuses on the theme “Motivation”.  Choose your characters and your voice style.  This Animation should be no longer than 2 minutes and a minimum of 45 seconds.
·      Make sure the story/animation has a purpose, that includes a beginning, middle, and end.
·      Save when you are all finished.
·      Publish and Post to Facebook when you are finished saving.
·      Comment on someone else’s video and critique the author (me) regarding instructions or procedures.
·      Post a mini-paragraph describing your experience and analyze the tool.  Would you use “Go Animate” as a teaching tool? For personal use?  Why or Why not?
·      This should be something fun! Let your creativity and imagination take over.

Emergent Technology:
“Go Animate” is a Web 2.0 Tool that allows any individual with creativity to create an animation.  If you ever had an idea of a short movie a short commercial, that involved a story and animated characters, but you felt like you did not have the resources to make it happen. Well “Go Animate” is simple to use and it allows you to be creative.  You do not have to worry about downloading anything!

Social Participation/Learning:
The social participation will be provided via Facebook.  The selected adult/students/ teachers will go to the link provided below and collaborate.  The group will be offered an opportunity to post comments, provide feedback, and ask the creator of the group questions.

Making Connections:
This learning scenario must offer opportunities for the adult learner to collaborate, explore, and to integrate technology on another level.  Identify how connections are made and how these connections inspire production and higher levels of learning.
1.  Previous knowledge of correspondence and feedback is highly suggested.
2.  Previous Knowledge of The Web and applying learning from tutorials. Prior Knowledge of creating a short story from beginning, middle, and end.
3.  Knowledge of uploading or sharing videos.
4.  Understanding of targeted audience and purpose for animation/story. Adult Students/Teachers will connect globally and virtually and they will be able to learn collectively.

 Create/Produce:
Students/Teachers will create and produce an animation.  They will use The Web 2.0 Tool, “Go Animate”.  The final product will be saved and published to Facebook.  Please publish to link provided above, unless you access these instructions directly from the facebook group invite.

Assessment:
Checklist
1.    Animation/Story (Video)
